Itinerary for the 7 day Chimpanzee and Wildlife Tour

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

The 7-day Chimps and Wildlife Safari starts at the Entebbe Airport, where you will be met by a company representative/guide who will transfer you to your place of overnight stay.

Depending on the time of your arrival, you may visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Center for a brief introduction to the Uganda Wildlife. Accommodation at Hotel No.5

Day 2: Entebbe- Kibale Forest NP

After breakfast, you will head to Kibale National Park take in the amazing scenery and pass through Fort Portal Tea Estates Region. Kibale is known as the primate capital of the world with about 13 primate species.  You will have lunch en route and arrive in the evening.

Day 3:  Chimp Trekking and Bigodi Community

Today, the renowned Kibale Forest beckons adventurers for an unforgettable chimp tracking experience. Known for its unparalleled diversity and abundance of primates in East Africa, this lush sanctuary invites you to embark on a guided exploration through its tropical rainforest.

Traverse the verdant paths in pursuit of sightings of the elusive wild chimpanzee, along with the vibrant red-tailed monkey, the striking black-and-white colobus monkey, and numerous other fascinating species.

Following a satisfying lunch, venture onwards to the Bigodi Swamp for a leisurely two-hour nature walk. This enchanting habitat is home to over 200 bird species, including the striking Papyrus Gonolek and the majestic Great Blue Turaco.

Managed by the local community, this walk offers an immersive experience into the rich tapestry of birdlife and primates that inhabit the area.

As you wander along community trails, gain insights into the indigenous way of life, adding depth to your exploration of this captivating ecosystem

Day 4: Kibale -Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, head out to Crater Lakes Region for the Top of the World Hike. This is a 3-hour guided nature walk taking you through amazing views of the mountains, lakes, and countryside.

At the top, enjoy the views of the 3 crater lakes, Nyamirima, Nyinabulitwa, and Nyabikere, and views of the Rwenzori Mountains and Kibale Forest. After lunch, head to Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving in time for relaxation.

Day 5: Lion Experiential Tour and Boat Cruise

Following breakfast, engage in a lion experiential project where visitors actively participate in monitoring the pride within the park. Utilizing locator devices, participants learn habituation calls and observe various aspects including weather, surroundings, and behavior.

The gathered data contributes significantly to researchers’ databases, enhancing the comprehension of wildlife ecology and supporting the conservation of the ecosystem.

Following lunch, embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. Encounter an array of birdlife and observe elephants, buffaloes, and numerous hippos cooling off along the shores.

Day 6:  Queen Elizabeth – Entebbe

Breakfast and you head back to Entebbe with lunch en-route and a stopover at the Equator. You will arrive in the evening in time for relaxation.

Day 7: Entanda Cultural Center – Entebbe

Today proceed to Entanda Cultural Center, an initiative rooted in the community, providing an immersive journey into Buganda culture within Uganda’s central region.

Engage in diverse activities including hands-on cooking classes featuring traditional cuisine, demonstrations showcasing traditional attire, ancient courtship musical instruments, traditional hunting techniques, honey tasting, traditional wine crafting, leisurely bicycle rides through plantations, bark clothing craftsmanship, and a serene forest walk.

( Depending on time, you may decide which activities interest you at the cultural center)

Indulge in the flavors of traditional dishes and a self-service buffet brimming with fresh fruits. Subsequently, you will be escorted to the airport for your return flight home.
