Itinerary for the 5 Day Murchison Falls National Park Safari

Day 1: Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park

Today you will head to Murchison Falls National Park, the largest national reserve in Uganda characterized by savannah, riverine forest, and woodland.  You will have lunch en route and then proceed to your accommodation place.

Day 2: Game Drive and Boat Cruise at the Bottom of the Falls

After an early morning breakfast, you will enjoy a half-day game drive on the northern bank of the Nile, with chances of seeing elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, hartebeests, waterbucks, and a variety of birds.

After lunch, we will go on a Nile cruise to the bottom of the impressive waterfalls. Look out for hippos, elephants, and crocodiles along the shores.

Day 3: Top of the Falls and Chimp Trekking in Budongo Forest

In the morning, we will visit the magnificent Top of the Falls where you can marvel at the mighty Nile. Watch how the fall is being forced into a seven-meter crevice to thunder 45 meters below in a series of cascades.

After this spectacular scenery, we continue to the southern part of the national park, Budongo Forest Reserve.

Here you will go for a guided chimp tracking in the forest spending 1 hour with the chimpanzees as you watch their daily activities. Later return to Pakuba Safari Lodge / Paara Safari Lodge.

Day 4: Boomu Women’s Group – Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After breakfast head to Boomu Women’s Group, a transformative impact of women’s empowerment within a community.  Spend some time with the group engaging in African crafts like beadwork, and basket weaving.

Alternatively, you might opt to have a village tour of the community learning more about village customs, traditions, and lifestyle.

Have a traditional meal with the community and thereafter head to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an overnight stay. Accommodation and Meals at Amuka Safari Lodge.

Day 5: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Entebbe

Today you will explore the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a 70 square kilometer sanctuary in pristine bush country and home to the only wild rhinos in Uganda. Here we will make a guided tracking to observe the rhinos at a very close distance and thereafter have lunch at the sanctuary.

Later head back to Entebbe for your departure flight back home or you will be dropped off at any accommodation of your choice.
