Upon landing at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, your dedicated driver-guide will warmly welcome you and transfer you to the Tribe Hotel, where you can unwind after your journey. Depending on your arrival time, you have two exciting options
Visit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust – Get an intimate look at the incredible rescue and rehabilitation efforts for orphaned elephants and learn about their conservation journey.
Explore the Giraffe Centre – Enjoy a close-up encounter with the endangered Rothschild giraffes, feed them from a viewing platform, and learn about vital conservation initiatives.

After Breakfast, proceed to Serengeti National Park. This is a scenic 5 hours drive towards the Great Serengeti National Park passing through the mist-shrouded rainforests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Look out for buffalos, baboons, elephants, and leopards in the dense undergrowth.
During your Serengeti game drive, look out for lions, leopards, elephants and buffalos, cheetahs, Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelle, topis, elands, waterbucks, hyenas, baboons, impalas, African wild dogs and giraffes to name a few. The park also boasts about 500 bird species, including ostrich, secretary bird, Kori bustard, crowned crane, marabou stork, martial eagle, lovebirds, and many species of vultures making it a perfect destination for bird lovers. Look out for the wildebeest and zebra as they make their way across the plains in pursuit of the rains, closely followed by predators.

In the morning after breakfast, proceed on a scenic drive to Ngorongoro Crater, passing through the lush landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. As you ascend into the highlands, enjoy stunning views of savannahs, hills, and Maasai villages. Upon reaching the crater’s rim, marvel at the panoramic vistas before descending into the crater floor, where extraordinary wildlife and landscapes await.
Home to around 25,000 large mammals, this natural wonder offers some of the best wildlife viewing opportunities in Africa. Look out for majestic bull elephants, as females typically stay outside the crater due to its dense predator population, one of the highest in Africa.
The crater's grassy plains are also a refuge for the critically endangered black rhino, with approximately 20 individuals making up nearly half of East Africa's remaining population.

After an early breakfast, set off for an exciting chimpanzee trekking experience. Depending on availability, you will trek in Cyamudongo Forest, a small, isolated rainforest surrounded by tea estates, located about an hour from the Gisakura park office. This group consists of approximately 40 chimpanzees.
Alternatively, you may trek the Uwinka group, the largest habituated troop in the area, with around 65 individuals. The duration of the trek varies, ranging from 30 minutes to 3 hours, depending on the chimpanzees' movements in search of food.
Once you locate the chimps, you'll spend one unforgettable hour observing their behaviors, interactions, and playful antics.
After lunch, you can choose to relax for the rest of the day or embark on a scenic 4-hour nature walk along the Kamiranzovu Waterfall Trail. This trail leads through the largest wetland in the forest, surrounded by lush, forested mountains, and resembling a giant caldera, with water draining through a dramatic gorge between two peaks.

To enter Tanzania, ensure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months after your arrival and has at least one blank page. If you plan to visit other East African countries, it’s recommended to have multiple blank pages available.
Tanzania requires a tourist or business visa for entry, which can be applied online at Tanzania Visa Portal. The visa fee is typically $50 USD for most nationalities, with U.S. citizens paying $100 USD. You can also obtain a single-entry visa on arrival at the main ports of entry, provided you meet all immigration requirements. Please note, multiple-entry visas are not available on arrival.

Upon arrival, you'll need to complete an entry form, pass through immigration, and possibly clear customs, being transparent about any goods you're bringing in.

If you're planning to visit Uganda, Rwanda, and/or Kenya as part of an East African adventure, the East Africa Tourist Visa may be your best option. This multiple-entry visa is valid for 90 days and costs $100 USD. Apply through the government portal of the first East African country you plan to enter.
Flights: Domestic flights typically have a baggage allowance of 15 kg in soft bags.
Getting Around: Tanzania’s diverse landscapes are best explored by safari vehicles or flights, offering travelers the chance to view wildlife and stunning vistas.
Although not mandatory, travel insurance is strongly recommended, as healthcare in Tanzania may differ from what you’re accustomed to. It’s best to be covered in case of any unforeseen circumstances.
