Tour Itinerary 10-Day Family Adventure Uganda

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport

You will be welcomed by a Company Representative and transferred to your hotel where you can relax and acclimatize to the sights and sounds of Uganda at the start of the Family Adventure Uganda Safari. Overnight at the Hotel No. 5 (B&B).

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast at 7:00 a.m., you will be on your way North to Murchison Falls National Park. Have a stop-over at Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary, home to the only wild rhinos in Uganda Have an optional stop at the Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

The sanctuary employs a multifaceted approach to safeguarding rhinos, including 24/7 monitoring, anti-poaching patrols, habitat restoration, and community engagement initiatives. Through educational programs and guided tours, visitors gain insight into the challenges facing rhino populations and the importance of their conservation.

The Rhino trek takes 1-2 hours and you will get an opportunity to view them at close quarters on the 10-day Family Adventure Uganda. 

After lunch, you will proceed to your place for an overnight stay at Paraa Safari Lodge 

Day 3: Game Safari and Boat Cruise to the bottom of the falls.

After having breakfast, you will embark on a 2-hour game safari that will expose you to the marvels of Uganda’s natural beauty. You will be amazed as towering giraffes gently roam across the plains, their graceful necks stretching toward the endless sky.

You will catch a glimpse of mighty elephants as they move with deliberate grace, their tusks a testament to their strength and resilience. Look out for the Kings of the Jungle – the lions as they stealthily prowl in search of prey.

You will witness the graceful movements of hartebeests as they bound across the grasslands, their speed a marvel to behold. Look out for the dazzling array of bird species, from vibrant kingfishers to majestic African fish eagles, each adding a splash of color and melody to the African wilderness.

After the game safari, you will have lunch and then head to the jetty for a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile to the bottom of Murchison Falls, which starts at 2:00 pm. During the cruise, you will have another chance to experience wildlife sightings, including wallowing buffaloes, schools of hippopotami, large Nile crocodiles, elephants, and plenty of water birds such as fish eagles and various storks.

Later in the day, you will return to Paraa Safari Lodge for an overnight stay on this 10-day Family Adventure Uganda Safari. Accommodation and meals will be provided.

Day 4: Top of the Falls and Evening Game Drive

After a relaxed breakfast, head out to the summit of Murchison Falls, You are rewarded with spectacular views of the powerful waterfall as it plunges into the narrow gorge below.

The sight and sound of the rushing water create an unforgettable moment and a sense of awe-inspiring natural wonder. Head back to the lodge for relaxation and lunch.

In the evening, the game drive promises an unforgettable safari experience filled with wildlife sightings, stunning landscapes, and the magic of an African sunset. Look out for games such as hyenas,  leopards, and owls among others on the 10-day Family Adventure Uganda.

Day 5: To Jinja -Adrenaline Capital of Uganda- Family Adventure Uganda

After breakfast, head to Jinja the adrenaline capital of Uganda arriving in the evening for relaxation. Accommodation and Meals at Wildwaters Lodge/ the Haven Eco River Lodge 

Note:  Wildwaters Lodge is unable to accept guests below 12 years on the island because it’s close to the rapids.  Alternative accommodation is at The Haven Eco River Lodge 

Day 6: Family Float Rafting and Relaxation

Today is all about adrenaline-pumping activities! Brace yourselves for a morning of family float whitewater rafting on the Nile – an exhilarating experience suitable for all ages.

Alternative activity.

For those seeking a more relaxed pace, take a Boat Cruise along the Source of the Nile taking in the cool breeze and looking out for some birds such as the African Eagle, kingfisher, monitor lizards, and otters.  Spend the evening relaxing at the lodge.

Day 7: Horse Back Riding OR Quad Biking

Today you will head out for a Quadbiking Session. Kids have the option of riding with their Parents or on their own using carefully designed and supervised circuits with skilled guides.

Adults can have the option of embarking on Explorer Safaris, River Nile Safaris visiting the local communities, farmers, and areas of forest on this trip besides the River Nile.

Alternative Activity

Horse Back Riding ( Pony Rides) for Kids and Advanced Rides for Adults. The ride takes in mostly the rural areas and the section along the Nile. There are options for short circuits on this ride,  no one is expected to go faster than they feel comfortable.

Day 8: Jinja – Entebbe- Family Adventure Uganda Safari

After breakfast, head back to Entebbe arriving in time for lunch at Hotel No 5 and relaxation in the evening.

You may visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Center, a center dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of injured and orphaned wildlife. ( optional activity for the evening)

Learn more about the flora and fauna of Uganda during your day tour as you take in the sights of animals like elephants, lions, leopards, tigers, giraffes, chimpanzees, snakes, birds like the Shoebill Stork and so many others.

Day 9:  Entebbe – Ngamba Island

After your breakfast, you will depart to the jetty for the 45-minute boat cruise at 9:00 am to Ngamba Island arriving in time for the day excursion. Upon arrival at the sanctuary, you will be directed to the visitor’s center where you will be given an introduction to the project, its history, our residents, and their plight.

You will receive an educational orientation by a chimpanzee caregiver and view the feeding of the chimpanzees from the visitors’ raised platform area along the edge of the sanctuary fence at 11:00 am before having lunch at the Island. You will return to the mainland heading back to the lodge on the 10-day Family Adventure Uganda Tour.

Day 10: Departure back home.

Depending on the time of your flight, head out into the vibrant town of Entebbe. Visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, where your kids can learn about the country’s diverse wildlife through interactive exhibits. Later, unwind at the beautiful Entebbe Botanical Gardens, a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll.
