Itinerary 11 Day Kenya Adventure Safari
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by your tour guide and transfer to your accommodation place. After relaxation, head out to the Karen Blixen Museum, a beautiful farmhouse where Karen Blixen, author of Out of Africa, lived between 1914 and 1931.
Take a look at Farm tools including a tractor, wagons, ploughs and an original coffee processing factory equipment. Take a look at the local and upcoming artists at the Karen’s Art Corner and the museum shop with souvenirs including handicrafts, posters and postcards, the Movie ‘Out of Africa’, books and other mementos. Vist the Giraffe Center and learn about the Conservation Efforts of the Center.

Day 2: Nairobi to Samburu
Today you will be drive north towards the rugged beauty of Samburu Game Reserve, a 6-hour drive filled with picturesque landscapes. Upon arrival, indulge in a sumptuous lunch before heading out on an exhilarating afternoon game drive, where the untamed wilderness awaits.

Day 3: Exploring Samburu
Spend a full day immersed in the captivating wilderness of Samburu Game Reserve, located in Kenya’s semi-arid northern region. The lifeblood of this dry bushland is the Uaso Nyiro River, where you’ll encounter the rare and fascinating “Samburu Special Five”—Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx. Along the riverbanks, flanked by iconic Doum palms, you may also spot majestic lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, and crocodiles.

Day 4: Samburu to Solio Conservancy
After a delightful breakfast, set out towards Mount Kenya, with its majestic peaks providing a stunning backdrop. Arrive at Rhino Watch Safari Lodge for lunch, followed by afternoon game drives in Solio Conservancy—a private sanctuary renowned for its thriving black rhino population. Here, you’ll witness rhinos and leopards in their natural habitat, along with zebras, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and the northern species of reticulated giraffe and beisa oryx. The Conservancy has over 100 bird species recorded in this paradise.

Day 5: Solio Conservancy
Spend a full day exploring Solio Game Reserve with morning and afternoon game drives. This reserve is not only a prime location for viewing rhinos and other wildlife but is also a bird watcher’s haven, boasting over 300 bird species including European rollers, flycatchers, vultures, eagle owls, Montagu’s Harriers, long-crested eagles, buzzards, crowned cranes, and European storks.
Enhance your experience with optional activities such as horseback riding, bush walks, mountain biking, and night game drives. Discover the diverse habitats, including an acacia forest and a river-turned-swamp, which attract a variety of bird species, making it a paradise for bird watchers.

Day 6: Solio Conservancy to Lake Naivasha- Boat Cruise and Nature Walk
Depart at 9:00 AM for a scenic 3-hour drive to the enchanting Lake Naivasha, a freshwater gem in the Great Rift Valley renowned for its rich birdlife. Spanning over 140 square kilometers, Lake Naivasha—named after the Maasai word Nai’posha, meaning “receding waters”—is a UNESCO Ramsar World Heritage site. It is home to over 300 bird species, including the majestic African fish eagle, pelicans, herons, and many more.
Have lunch and relax at the Lodge. In the evening, embark on a serene boat ride, offering close encounters with hippos and an array of birdlife. Disembark at the shores of the Lake for a nature walk, look out for Buffaloes, Thompson gazelles and Wildebeest among others.

Day 7: Explore Hell’s Gate.
After breakfast with a packed lunch head to Hell’s Gate. You will have a nature walk and hiking activities in the park. Take a Hike to the Gorges: The park is famous for its dramatic gorges, particularly the Hell’s Gate Gorge, provides a dramatic backdrop inspired the background scenery of Disney’s The Lion King and also served as the setting for Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life.
You may descend deeper into the lower Ol Njorowa Gorge: A popular challenging hiking route that takes you through steep cliffs, narrow canyons, and natural Hotsprings. You may take on a cycling experience through the park, look out for antelopes, impala, zebras, buffaloes, and giraffe among others. You will have a picnic lunch in between the activities. Later return to Olerai House.
Day 8: Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara
After a hearty breakfast, set off for a 3-4 hour journey to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. The drive takes you through the breathtaking floors and escarpments of the Great Rift Valley, a geological marvel shaped by the earth’s tectonic movements over millennia. Upon arrival, enjoy a delightful lunch and relax before your afternoon game drive in the Masai Mara—an iconic safari destination renowned for its abundant wildlife and awe-inspiring landscapes.

Day 9 & 10: Explore the Masai Mara Conservancy
Spend two more days exploring the central and north-eastern areas of the Masai Mara, where each game drive offers new and thrilling encounters with the rich wildlife. Witness the “Big Five” in their natural habitat: lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos. The reserve is also home to a myriad of other fascinating species, including giraffes, zebras, hippos, baboons, wildebeests, warthogs, gazelles, and crocodiles.
For the adventurous at heart, take on an authentic safari experience the hot-air ballooning experience.

Day 11: Masai Mara to Nairobi
The camp overlooks Sand River, a picturesque combination of sand banks, dramatic rocks and riverine forest – an idyllic setting for a late breakfast after the morning game drive. Later you will check out and head back to Nairobi, taking with you memories of an extraordinary safari adventure.
