Itinerary for the 7 day Chimpanzee and Wildlife Tour

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

The 7-day Chimps and Wildlife Safari starts at the Entebbe Airport, where you will be met by a company representative/guide who will transfer you to your place of overnight stay. Depending on the time of your arrival, you may visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Center for a brief introduction to the Uganda Wildlife. Accommodation at Hotel No.5

Day 2: Entebbe- Kibale Forest NP

After breakfast, you will head to Kibale National Park take in the amazing scenery and pass through Fort Portal Tea Estates Region. Kibale is known as the primate capital of the world with about 13 primate species.  You will have lunch en route and arrive in the evening.

Day 3:  Chimp Trekking and Bigodi Community

Today the forest opens its doors for sensational chimp tracking. Kibale Forest is reputable for having the greatest variety and the highest concentration of primates in East Africa. Enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzee, red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey, and many others.

After lunch head to the Bigodi Swamp for a 2 hours nature walk- a home of 200 bird species including the Papyrus Gonolek and the Great Blue Turaco. The Walk is an initiative of the local community and is known for its rich diversity of birds and primates. Community trails will give you a glimpse into the indigenous way of life.

Day 4: Kibale -Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, head out to Crater Lakes Region for the Top of the World Hike. This is a 3-hour guided nature walk taking you through amazing views of the mountains, lakes, and countryside. At the top, you will enjoy the views of the 3 crater lakes, Nyamirima, Nyinabulitwa, and Nyabikere, and views of the Rwenzori Mountains and Kibale Forest. After lunch, head to Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving in time for relaxation.

Day 5: Lion Experiential Tour and Boat Cruise

After breakfast, you will visit a lion experiential project. This experience allows visitors to actively participate in monitoring the pride in the park, using locator devices and learning habituation calls, as well as monitoring weather, surroundings, and behavior. The results are added to researchers’ databases, contributing valuable information to the overall understanding of wildlife ecology, and helping to conserve this wonderful ecosystem. After lunch, take on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George. Thanks to the abundant birdlife that is sighted, and the elephants, buffaloes, and hundreds of hippos that are cooling off at the shores.

Day 6:  Queen Elizabeth – Entebbe

Breakfast and you head back to Entebbe with lunch en-route and a stopover at the Equator. You will arrive in the evening in time for relaxation.

Day 7: Entanda Cultural Center – Entebbe

After breakfast, head to Entanda Cultural Center, a community-based program that offers an authentic cultural experience of Buganda in the central region of Uganda. You will get to participate in activities like practical classes of cooking food in the traditional way, demonstration of traditional wear, traditional hunting, the ancient courtship musical instrument, tasting of fresh honey, traditional wine processing, bicycle rides in the plantations, bark clothing making, a walk in the forest. You will then enjoy the traditional dishes as well as a self-service buffet of fresh fruits. Later you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight back home.
